Atma Tara Kaur / Laura Hoff
Laura was born and raised in Easton, Pennsylvania. At age 29, her intuition called her to take a huge leap of faith, leave behind everything that was familiar and comforting to her, and start her truth seeking journey to California. She has been in Carlsbad, CA since 2015.
Laura started her career path as a dental hygienist in 2006 and has been practicing ever since.
She is very passionate about connecting with her patients and educating them on whole body health and the oral/systemic connection. Outside of dentistry, Laura has been practicing different types of yoga for over 7 years and has been practicing meditation for over 6 years. She is certified in Laughter Yoga, Yoga and the 12 steps of Recovery (Y12SR) and will receive her 200 hour RYT through KRI (Kundalini Research Institute) in June 2018.
Laura believes we are like the lotus flower. A lotus has its roots in mud, at the bottom of streams and ponds, but the lotus grows to become the most beautiful flower, despite any adversity. This symbolizes how we too can overcome any obstacles and challenges on our journey towards enlightenment and spiritual growth. Having had grown up surrounded by alcoholism and addiction, the effects of this type of environment gave Laura problems of her own. The 12 steps of recovery have given her a foundation for life, a way to rise from the depths of despair, and be able to learn where she does have power: over her own life.
Laura believes her purpose on this planet is to contribute to the elevation of humanity. She believes through yoga and meditation, we can connect with ourselves and hear more of what our soul is trying to tell us. It is within this silence we are able to get to the root of our suffering and dis-ease through self-love and breaking through the “I am not enough” mentality. Her belief is that we are our own teachers and gurus and all that we need is already inside of us.
“Yoga is not going to make you great. Yoga is going to make you – YOU.” – Yogi Bhajan
