Fay McGrew has been teaching Qigong in San Diego since 1997 with an emphasis on integrative medicine and women’s health.
She has effectively applied modernized versions of these ancient health practices in helping thousands of patients at major medical institutions through their healing journey ranging from Scripps Center for Integrative Medicine, UCSD Center for Integrative Medicine, to the Chopra Center, and Mind Body Medicine program at Naval Medical Center San Diego.
Currently she is a Qigong provider at Naval Hospital Camp Pendleton’s Holistic Health Department innovating effective Qigong therapies integrated into treatment programs for trauma and modern combat injuries. In 2003, she opened her own studio, Hidden Pine Studio located in Carlsbad, offering classes, workshops and retreats with emphasis on Women’s Qigong, a specific system for female body and psyche, which Fay is the only teacher of in Southern California.
Beginning her journey in 1970 studying martial arts, meditation, and yoga, her passion shifted to Qigong, a practice combining very gentle mindful movement, breathing and meditation supporting one’s self-healing abilities for body and being.
It is regarded today as one of the 5 branches of Traditional Chinese Medicine, rooted in the ancient longevity practices of Daoism. Fay studies in China as well as the West with masters of Medical Qigong, Women’s Qigong, Taiji Quan, internal martial arts, Daoism, and Zen/Chan Meditation.
