Eclipse Season- Astro Drop
There is a New Moon Solar Eclipse happening on Wednesday, October 2nd, and it will be an annular eclipse, also known as the "ring of fire" due to the Moon's position, where it won't completely cover the Sun. The ring of fire is also seen as a representation of change, new opportunities, and transformation. Passion, intensity and new ideas are often associated with the ring of fire eclipse. The eclipse occurs at 10° and 2 minutes of Libra and carries significant transformative power as it is like a new moon on steroids! This is not just about new beginnings but also endings, as it is conjunct the South Node, which represents our collective past, karma, and what needs to be released. This is intensified by another powerful conjunction involving Black Moon Lilith. Black Moon Lilith, reflecting the dark lunar, false mother/feminine energy, adds a layer of deep emotional exploration, requiring us to confront the parts of ourselves we’ve disowned or suppressed. This is releasing energy and karmic patterns from the eclipse cycles of 2004 and 2005.
These can be the deep primal feelings—anger, desire, frustration, jealousy—that have long been repressed or hidden. Black Moon Lilith brings these negatively polarized, taboo aspects of ourselves to the surface, inviting us to confront our inner dark side. If left unchecked, these powerful emotions can lead to destructive behaviors. Remember when you put a “d in front of “anger” it’s “danger”. If we continue to project and bury these deep feelings, we have the potential to move into resentment, jealousy and perpetuation of the victim/victimizer cycle. However, by using practices like clearing the victim/victimizer pattern, meditating, acknowledging and integrating our shadow, these emotions can be transmuted into a source of immense healing and creative energy.
This eclipse urges us to look at what we’ve outgrown in relationships, personal habits, and patterns of behavior. Libra, the sign of balance and relationships, asks us to examine our partnerships, how we project our needs onto others, and where we avoid taking responsibility for our own emotional baggage. Libra is notorious for wanting to maintain peace and harmony, often at the expense of true balance. This eclipse challenges us to stop sacrificing our authenticity for the sake of others and instead confront the areas where we’ve been projecting our unowned aspects onto those around us. Whether it’s frustration, unmet needs, or discontent, this is a time to take accountability and recognize that the qualities we reject in others may be parts of ourselves we need to embrace and heal. I am always reminded of that Taylor Swift song when I talk about this subject, “It’s me, Hi, I’m the problem, It’s me!”
The chart for this eclipse is further amplified by a Cardinal Grand Cross configuration involving Mars, Makemake, Salacia, the Sun, Moon and Ceres . Makemake is exactly conjunct the eclipse and symbolizes regeneration and renewal, asking us to reconnect with nature and bring balance back into our lives. Makemake, according to the mythology related to Easter Island, is the creator of humanity, the god of fertility and the chief god of the "Tangata manu" or bird-man sect. He is depicted in the hieroglyphs as having a face with large eyes or perhaps a skull with large eye sockets and a phallic nose. I take this bird-man reference and the drawings that look like a being wearing a space helmut, to mean the extraterrestrials that seeded our planet hundreds of millions of years ago. Makemake's opposition to Salacia, wife of Neptune, the mermaid goddess of shimmering light reflected on the waters, emphasizes the healing potential of light, water, and frequency. These energies invite us to deepen our connection to the Earth and recognize the role that nature plays in our personal and collective healing. Using the violet flame energy can be very useful in transmutation of this negative energy. Also moving our attention to the Solar Feminine energy returning to the planet as Divine Mother, to dismantle this dark feminine manipulative force. Meditate on connecting with Mother Earth by visualizing her aqua blue ray rising up from the Earth and enveloping your entire being. Also involved in this Grand Cross is Kuiper Belt asteroid Teharonhiawako, another creator god in Iriquois myth. associated with creating the Earth, agriculture and the importance of planting seeds for future growth. This aspect of the eclipse highlights the need to not only let go of the past but to consciously plant new intentions and goals for the future. It also speaks to the idea of transcending duality and integrating both light and shadow to create a more balanced and holistic approach to life.
Libra’s energy in general, favors balance and harmony, but often at the cost of our own needs. This eclipse presents an opportunity to break free from those old patterns of people pleasing, codependency or projection, encouraging us to communicate honestly and openly about our desires. Yes, being authentic can seem risky, but by owning our shadow aspects and expressing our true sovereign selves with diplomacy and tact, we can create healthier and more balanced relationships.
Finally we have a very auspicious gitt of a new comet called Tsuchinshan-ATLAS, appearing in the early morning hours. A surge of intense solar heat is making it easily visable to the naked eye. Ultimately, this solar eclipse, is a cosmic invitation to let go of what no longer serves us, confront our shadow, and embrace both the light and dark within. With the involvement of Makemake, Salacia, and Teharonhiawako, this eclipse highlights the importance of regeneration, balance with nature, and planting the seeds for a new future. It’s been a time of deep transformation with Pluto at the last degrees of Capricon for the final time in all of our lives. This is urging us to close out the last 16 years, step into our power as the Phoenix Rising, to step into our higher frequency 5th dimensional selves and createf the New Earth.
